    Description

Experience the magic of the monsoon with Zephyranthes 'Apricot', one of the most unique and enchanting varieties of Rain Lily. Known for its "chameleon" blooms, this dainty perennial offers a two-day color show that transforms your garden after every summer rain.

    The Visual Highlights

    • Color-Shifting Blooms: Each flower performs a stunning transition. On the first day, the 2-inch rounded blossoms open in a lovely peachy apricot. By the second day, they mellow into a scrumptious peach sherbet orange.

    • Glossy Green Foundation: The flowers rise on 6-inch tall spikes, emerging from a dense tuft of narrow, glossy green foliage that remains attractive throughout the growing season.

    • The "Rain" Effect: True to its name, this lily is famous for its synchronized blooming. After a heavy summer rain or a thorough watering, the bulbs burst into flower almost simultaneously, creating a carpet of color.

    • Mass Performance: While a single bloom is delicate, mass planting creates a breathtaking "river" of apricot hues that is a hallmark of high-end landscape design.

Why 'Apricot' is a Garden Favorite

"Zephyranthes 'Apricot' has quickly become a staff favorite. Its ability to change colors over 48 hours makes it a dynamic addition to any border or pot, and it is incredibly reliable for monsoon color."

    • Space-Saving Beauty: At only 6 inches tall, these lilies fit anywhere—tucked into rockeries, lining the front of a border, or filling small decorative pots.

    • Effortless Naturalizing: Once planted, these bulbs multiply over time, providing more and more "apricot clouds" with every passing year.

    • Tough & Reliable: As members of the Amaryllidaceae family, these bulbs are resilient and easy to care for, making them perfect for both beginner and expert gardeners.

    Planting & Care Guide

    • Pot Culture: These lilies love company! Use a 6-inch pot and plant 4–5 bulbs, spacing them evenly for a full, lush display.

    • Soil Media: Use ordinary garden soil mixed with sand for drainage and well-decayed cow manure for nutrients. Well-drained soil is essential to prevent bulb rot.

    • Watering: Water thoroughly whenever the soil surface feels dry. Keep the soil moist during the growing season, but let the bulbs "rest" naturally after the flowering period ends.

    • Sunlight: Prefers full, bright direct sunlight to produce the most blooms, but it can tolerate partly shaded spots.

    Personal, sustainable, and educational

Our plants and mosses are hand selected at local growers with the utmost care and love. Here, they are grown in the most sustainable way possible. This way, the plants in your glass bottle are guaranteed to thrive together and you will enjoy your personal ecosystem with plants for many years to come.

We learn by doing. By creating your own terrarium with plants in a bottle yourself or with your children you learn about the various facets of the earth and thus the basis of our living existence in a creative way. Stone, potting soil, roots, plants, water and recycling all come together in this creative eye-catcher for your home.

    Good to know

    • We work with MPS-certified plants and recycled glassware.
    • Dimensions and colours of live plants may vary.
    • It is also possible that, due to the season, a pictured plant is not in stock.
    • In that case you will receive a beautiful alternative.
    • It is recommended to open your ecosystem once a month for a few hours.

    Pro Tip:

Avoid "wet feet" at all costs! To prevent your bulbs or rhizomes from rotting before they wake up, mix a handful of coarse sand or perlite into the bottom of your planting hole. This creates a "drainage pillow" that keeps water from pooling around the base during heavy rains.
